Stalward Elite Polyester Preservers are made with 100 micron polyester (aka Mylar), and have a clear polycarbonate backing board that is fully enclosed within the polyester so that the comic book never comes in contact with the board making Preservers 100% archival. With a clear backing board you can now see the comic book back and front without taking it out of the bag, decreasing the risk of damage from handling.
Polyester comic bags are considered the safest for archival storage of comics and artwork. Polyester is ideal for conservation storage and the manufacture of archival quality comic bags and sleeves. Stable and chemically inert, it offers optical clarity, strength, rigidity and resistance to degradation for the protection for comics, manuscripts, photographic prints, drawings, maps, etc.
Stalward Elite Polyester Preservers are very rigid due to the 1.5mm clear polycarbonate backing board combined with 100micron polyester. Care is advised when encapsulating. Generally only current/modern size comic books will fit.
