Silica gel is particularly useful to help maintain low humidity when storing comics in comic boxes, cupboards and small storage spaces. Silica gel has the ability to absorb up to 40 percent of its weight at 90 percent relative humidity, Orange silica gel will turn from orange to green when saturated. It has the advantage of being used several times before losing its absorbing ability. Re-activated (dried out) beads will go back to being orange. All our orange silica bags are made of a non-woven material that are semitransparent. Orange silica gel is not impregnated with cobalt chloride, it is the latest product that can replace the blue silica gel indicator.

The 10gm silica gel is a hard granular, non-toxic and non-corrosive desiccant that gives the appearance of crushed glass. It is odourless, insoluble and a non-conductor of electricity.

When used in a closed environment, the silica gel absorbs moisture from the air to help lower the humidity and thus keeping the air dry.  It will prevent all forms of rust, corrosion, oxidation, mildew, fungus, mould, fogging, etc. Silica gel can be useful in many situations like the packing of shoes, electronics, engineering components, computer parts, clothes, foods, medical instruments, electronics, luggage, chemical products, scientific experiments, diagnostics, confectionery, packaging and much more.
