Stalward Elite Comic Backing Boards are a super rigid, 1.3mm, long term archival storage board, that traps and holds pollutants due to the Microchamber technology which has been proven and validated by The Library of Congress and the Getty Conservation Institute. This board is chosen by the finest museums worldwide including the Australian National Archives, National Gallery of Australia, British Library and the Smithsonian Institute.

Microchamber Technology: active against gas oxidants – Backing boards which can fight against acidic gases such as: Nitrogen Dioxide and Sulphur Dioxide from air pollution – Ozone (UV radiations) – Formaldehyde (tobacco smokes) – Ammonia (contained in cleaning products) – Acetic acid (contained in all papers during their ageing). These gases, when mixed with humidity, create liquid acids which attack the artwork and then deteriorate it. “Zeolites” act as carbon filters, trapping and holding pollutants, preventing them from damaging the artwork while preserving the colours. This is the Microchamber Technology.
